Edoardo Valentini and his his son Francesco Paolo have done a lot to raise the profile of Abruzzo wine, elevating its status to the highest echelon thanks to their rigorous work and unconventional interpretation of the two main varieties found in the region: Trebbiano and Montepulciano.

It’s difficult to understand the segret behind the incredible success and the longevity of their labels, which are by now legendary. In this Masterclass we’ll explore two wines and their celebrated homeland which still is rich with secrets to reveal and details to analyze. We’ll do so through a mini vertical tasting, and a discussion with Francesco Paolo Valentini.

Giancarlo Gariglio, curator of Slow Wine and coordinator of the Slow Wine Coalition guides a tasting of the following wines:

Trebbiano d’Abruzzo from the following vintages:

  • 2010
  • 2012
  • 2017

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo from the following vintages:

  • 2001
  • 2012

This masterclass is open to enthusiasts and industry professional with a general access ticket to Sana Slow Wine Fair, available here.
